The Chicago Southland Fall & Winter 2017 2018

Festivals & Events Guide now available

Lansing, Ill. – Just because the season has changed is all the more reason to get moving and keep your blood pumping. Over the next six months there is so much to do and it’s all in the Chicago Southland Fall / Winter Festivals & Events Guide. Featuring over 320 unique events, this resource will help you shake things up throughout the entire season.

In preparation for the onslaught of calories that will be consumed on Thanksgiving Day you may want to check into the Southland’s many outside running and walking events. There is the Orland Hills 24th Annual Turkey Trot, New Lenox Gobbler Gauntlet 5K, Orland Park Diaper Dash and Kids Turkey Trot as well as Homewood’s 14th Annual Butterball Burner Fun Run.

If you are into nature then visit Beecher’s Plum Creek Nature Center for the Sandhill Crane Experience or Lemont’s Sagawau Environmental Learning Center and learn about proper Winter Bird Feeding. Crisp, clear night skies are brimming with more sightings than in summer at Astrono-Monee located at the Monee Reservoir.

These pages are packed with so many Holiday activities you will be pressed to choose just one. Be amazed at the lights at Brookfield Zoo Chicago’s Holiday Magic in December. You can take a step back in time at Frankfort’s Christkindl Market or Crete’s Country Christmas complete with a lighted parade.

After the excitement of the season there is plenty to do through April. Check out Homewood’s Indoor Farmers Market, Park Forest’s Freedom Hall shows, or Palos Hills Moraine Valley Community College Fine & Performing Arts Center for events. March will be here in a blink of any eye just in time for the Tinley Park Convention Center Home & Garden Show, and at the same time Oak Forest’s Irish events will kick off at Chicago Gaelic Park. April ushers in a whole new season of White Sox Baseball at Guaranteed Rate Field and Fishing Derbies at Palos Height’s Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Gardens or Palos Park’s Papoose Lake. Alas, you have made it to spring and it’s really that easy with the help from our Festivals & Events Guide.
