Plan Your Next Meeting at Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center

Interested in planning team-building activities while visiting the Chicago Southland? The Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center features 38 acres of natural, wooded areas, perfect for team-building exercises, which include a team development course, low-to-the-ground obstacles, two high ropes courses and a 40-foot climbing tower. With dedicated facilitators guiding participants, the program focuses on exploring teamwork, communication, leadership, collaboration, trust and coaching.  

The team at Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center is ready to help your group explore the outdoors with hands-on adventures and learning opportunities. With activities meant to build personal confidence, trust and support among one another, everyone will experience an engaging day of fun with their peers.

Programming options range from the ropes course and team building activities to the climbing tower, all situated within the nature preserve. For an added activity, groups can schedule the Environmental Education Program to learn more about this natural landscape [Irons Oaks] within the Chicago Southland.

Choose from one or more of the activities to create either a four- or eight-hour program, and allow the on-site Irons Oaks facilitators to lead participants through a customized program. Facilitators work alongside individuals while promoting teamwork, problem-solving and reaching goals together as a group. In support of your group’s core mission and objectives, facilitators serve as leaders for adventure and creating a team experience.

Situated approximately 30-35 feet off the ground, the high ropes course allows team members to work together to traverse the obstacles and problem solve with one other. Equipped with safety harnesses, adventures at the 40-foot climbing tower feature 1,000 square feet of climbing surfaces with multiple routes. Participants can work together, encouraging one another to make the 25-foot climb atop the Power Pole.

If you’re looking for additional workspace, Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center also has two meeting rooms for a total of 2,300 square feet of meeting space. Enjoy a catered team lunch or schedule a few breakout sessions for your group during the day.
