The Fun of STEM

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math sound like serious subjects, but they can also be quite entertaining. Kids with an interest in STEM subjects will find that in the Chicago Southland, we also bring a lot of fun to the table through hands-on exhibits, events and programming. Make plans to enjoy some of these attractions to engage in some curious learning and make memories at the same time.

The Homewood Science Center (HomewoodScienceCenter.org) inspires scientific wonder, learning and pursuit. Each week, there’s a drop-in STEM Saturday that is free from 10AM-1PM with a variety of ways to learn through play with the Imagination Playground, LEGO activities, Pulley Power, Dinosaur Bones, Batmobile Illusion and more.

The Argonne National Laboratory (ANL.gov) has helped reshape the interest of kids in STEM during its outreach programs and wide range of summer camps. Coding, Data and Energy are some of the topics covered, providing inspiration to further their education in STEM fields.
