This is a memorial for troops lost in Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring Freedom.

BEECHER

The memorial includes the flags of all branches of the military service, featuring a 25-foot stainless steel star allowing those peering into the star to see themselves as a veteran or a beneficiary of other's service and sacrifice.

BLUE ISLAND

This memorial is dedicated to the 50+ men from Blue Island who served in the Union armies.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS

CHICAGO HEIGHTS VETERANS MEMORIAL

Although the memorial dates back to 1922, the present day mural was completed in 2010 and features figures of five service members, an eagle and inscription that reads "Honoring Those Who Have Served."

LANSING

The Lansing Veterans Memorial, located at the Lansing Municipal Airport, is a striking tribute to the veterans of all recent wars but especially commemorating the Vietnam Conflict.

OAK FOREST

OAK FOREST VETERANS MEMORIAL

The memorial's steel, five point star represents the branches of military service. The angle of the star reminds us of those who perished in the line of duty. The memorial also includes commemorative headstones of the first seven Oak Forest residents who died in combat.

This memorial incorporates over twelve tons of steel and concrete from the World Trade Center disaster and features bronze sculptures by Artist Erik Blome.

This memorial features a polished black stone wall dedicated to all veterans and displays the names of all Oak Lawn residents who died serving their country.

Each Memorial and Veterans Day, the village's Veterans Commission adds the names of veterans to the granite wall surrounding Orland Park's Veterans Memorial, "Ara Pace ~ Place of Peace." Remembered military need not be residents of the Village of Orland Park or deceased. Veterans from throughout the region have been honored by family and friends as they proudly rise when their name is called at the village's Memorial and Veterans Day Ceremonies.
