The museum houses the collection of the Matteson Historical Society which focuses on early Matteson life and German immigrant families. Among the artifacts are farm equipment, railroad memorabilia, household equipment and women's clothing, toys and business machines along with 8000 year old archeological artifacts and a document collection including early village records, 20th century news clippings, maps and aerial photographs.
