For those traveling via I-80/94 into Illinois from points east, the Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis is the first oasis in the state, located about three miles from the Illinois/Indiana State Line.

The new VIC is situated within the oasis and is staffed and operated by the Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau, a Lansing, Illinois-based destination management and marketing organization whose service area includes Chicago 61 south and southwest suburbs.

Services offered at the staffed VIC include maps, travel directions, hotel information, Chicago Southland and Chicago metro area attraction information, and satellite TV broadcasts of news, traffic information and weather.

The Chicago Southland VIC is staffed during peak visitor traffic periods, with longer hours during the traditional summer travel period from Memorial Day to Labor Day, in addition to staffing during peak holiday travel periods.
